AFRICA FOR CHRIST
WHO WE ARE
Africa For Christ is a non-denominational, evangelical church-planting organization with bases in Xai-Xai, Chicorôa (Inhambane Province), and Màgoé (Tete Province).
Our vision is to glorify God through planting churches for the purpose of equipping God’s people for works of service so that the Body of Christ may be built up. (Ephesians 4:12)
We do what we do because we want to see God worshipped and treasured as He should be amongst the people of this world. Africa For Christ believes wholeheartedly in establishing sustainable indigenous churches, which are registered in Mozambique as Igreja Evangélica África para Cristo.
For that reason, we choose to focus on preaching, teaching the Word of God, and planting churches, as God directs, in one area at a time and pouring into and strengthening the Body of Christ there until such time as that church is able to thrive and grow under local leadership.
We run Missions Training Schools at all of our bases with the intention of training leaders, disciples and church planters.
Africa For Christ in Mozambique is led by Wynand Jordaan.
WHAT WE DO

- Weekly audio Bible studies, meetings for the elderly, intercession meetings, hospital, and prison visits
- Marketplace evangelism, door-to-door evangelism, regular house visits
- Daily Missions School Training classes (1-year programme)
- Distribution of Bibles & printed Christian materials
- Practical assistance to the poor, clothing distribution, disaster relief

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED IN CHURCH FOR CHRIST
- Prayer – We believe God (and therefore prayer) is the most vital resource for any
ministry. Without prayer, we can accomplish nothing.
Please pray for us as God leads you and know that we so appreciate each
and every prayer that goes up before the throneroom of God. If you feel
God is leading you toward focused and consistent prayer for the ministry of AFC, please contact us about joining our Intercession Team.
- Sponsorships - Our staff is growing. The more we spread out as an organisation, the more local missionaries, translators, and workers we are supporting. Over the past several years, we have also been able to send a number of young men and women to missions schools for theological studies and in-depth missions training. We have found these times of study life-changing for them and invaluable for ministry. If you would like to help sponsor one of these students, an AFC translator, or a local worker or missionary please contact us.
- Donations of clothing - Clothing donations are very welcome in the underprivileged communities in Mozambique. Your gently used clothes can provide warmth and comfort to those in need.
- Short term teams or volunteers - Are you interested in seeing what we do first hand? Are you interested
in lending your skills? Your knowledge? Your time? We would love to
have you join us on a short-term trip!
- Other donations - Material and financial donations are always welcome. We have found that
often people want to give, but they don’t know what, so feel free to contact us o contact us
for more information about our current material needs or if you have
something that you feel God has put on your heart, but you are not sure
how to proceed. Also, as we plant new churches, we are in need of
funding to help us to purchase the various properties on which to
build. Community members help with the projects and contribute where they are
able.
