WHO WE ARE

Celebration Church is based in Austin, Texas, with international locations in Mozambique and Italy. At Celebration we believe in Christ first, excellence in all things, people are a big deal, everyone will grow, and we are all family.

Celebration Mozambique, Igreja Celebração, started in 2010 and has grown to encompass multiple church campuses, a school, and child and student sponsorship programmes, as well as a ministry to the local prison in Xai-Xai. Our Celebration Church missionaries work closely with both our national and our local campus pastors to bring the mission, vision, and heart of Celebration Church to this growing national church.

We have six locations across Mozambique: Chongoene, Helene, Macuacua, Manjacaze, Patrice, and Tembene.

Celebration Mozambique is lead by Pastor Mel Stauber and his wife Diane.

1 - School of Champions

Celebration Church’s School of Champions exists for the benefit of our sponsorship children. Using the Mozambique curriculum taught by local teachers we aim to prepare our students to be successful in their future. Many will continue on to the university and others will enter the workforce after graduation. In either case, they are equipped with the leadership and life skills that will positively impact their communities as ambassadors of Christ.

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED IN OUR SCHOOL OF CHAMPIONS

  • Donations can be made to our School of Champions which will contribute to teachers salaries, books, stationery, maintenance etc.

2 - Child Sponsorship Programme

Celebration Church’s Child Sponsorship Program serves over four hundred orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children within the Tembene and Patrice communities on the outskirts of the city of Xai-Xai. Since its inception in 2007, we have delivered Christ-centered programming by providing biblical instruction, nutritional meals, tutoring, and assistance with medical needs. Sponsors connect with their sponsored child through notes, sharing pictures, and video conferencing.

4 - Mission Trips

In 2024, our mission in Xai-Xai, Mozambique, is multi-faceted and impactful. We have a Student Ministry trip, a Serve Team trip and a Men's Team trip. The first will host a Children's Day party across four locations, engaging over 5,000 kids. They share skills with local students, connect with youth and young adults, and collaborate with the ministry team to advance our work. The second trip, the team will focus on community service, including physical tasks in challenging terrain, with opportunities for sponsors to meet their sponsored child. The latter will be Men's involvement in construction projects, complemented by a special Mozambique Man Night.

    WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I’ve had trouble putting to words my experience in Xai-Xai. The best way to describe it, as many can relate, is that it was not just a trip to some foreign country, it become home and the people of Celebration Mozambique became family! One of my favorite memories is the moment my team arrived to celebration church Mozambique’s grounds. As we parked our cars, our cars echoed with sound of the most joyful noise and site of so many smiling faces. The entire church (staff, children, and families) had gathered and lined up to sing, dance, and clap with zealous joy to welcome us in as we drove through the church gate. They were living out the heart of our pastors to be a church that honors and celebrates people because people are a big deal! As soon as, we parked the cars and my feet hit the ground, I thought to myself “I am home”. So, immediately celebration Mozambique felt like home and the people of celebration Mozambique became my forever family!

It was a true honor to serve along side our Celebration Church Mozambique Dream Team of volunteers today for National Children's Day. They served with all of their hearts and the 1700 kids that showed up to the party had a blast!!  Looking back on the last 10 days in Xai Xai, all I can say is "WOW!!" There are so many things about this missions trip that I'm grateful for and time with The Stauber Family is right up there at the top of the list. Thank you for your amazing hospitality and for showing us all what it looks like to die to self and to be obedient to the call of God.

As our #celebrationmoz campus celebrates its 10 year anniversary, I can’t help but think back fondly of the amazing memories I have of my multiple trips to Xai Xai. I simply love it there. The opportunity to meet & spend time with some of the most selfless, genuine and beautiful people I have ever met will forever bless my life and I am so thankful to call them “family.” Thank you Celebration Church and Celebration Mozambique for loving people so well and training up others to do the same. Happy Anniversary! #untilnexttime
